Barb and her family made a trip out to California this summer. Read on to learn about Barb’s trip to California, which included a stop at Lake Tahoe!
In mid-July, my sister and I met our families in Truckee California for some R&R. Our first stop was at Donner Lake right outside of Truckee. This is where the Donner Family spent a very hard winter. Because of COVID-19, the museum was not open. It would have been interesting to see the story about what happened.
The picture above is of my sister and myself in front of Donner Lake. It was very windy.
We then headed to Lake Tahoe, which is the second deepest lake in America.
This photo is of the gondola we took to the top of the mountain by Lake Tahoe. It took about 30 minutes to get to the top.
And this is of Lake Tahoe South from the gondola. They say that there is enough water in Lake Tahoe to supply everyone in the U.S., 50 gallons of water per day for five years. It is 1,645 feet deep.
The day we arrived at Lake Tahoe, the governor closed down all restaurants so we had to cook in our room or eat at the casino. It was not the best time to be a tourist. But the weather was cool in the evenings, and we saw lots of beautiful forests and stunning lakes. I recommend a few days away from work for everyone.
