Policy Review
Thank you to everyone who completed the survey on our KHI policies. While the survey was anonymous, you did have the option to enter your name if you wanted to be contacted by our ELL coach, Ryan Davis, who may be reaching out to learn more about the matters cited in your survey. We are also engaging with the KHI Board of Directors on this process to review our policies with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion. During this process, if you have any concerns, please contact Ryan Davis at ryanjustindavis@gmail.com, or connect with a member of KHI’s ELL Core Team.
Equity Communications Guidance
The Kansas Health Institute believes that improving the health of our state requires addressing disparities in health that exist among all populations. To effectively communicate factors of health equity, it requires the use of descriptive language and imagery in KHI publications and in other forms of stakeholder engagement. To that end, we are developing a technical communication plan to ensure consistent and appropriate language, terminology and images in KHI products and other communications products. This document is officially titled: KHI Equity Communications Guidance. We are planning to present a draft to All Staff in May so that we have an opportunity to listen and learn whether there are areas or topics we are missing in this guidance. In the meantime, if you would like to access the latest draft, please reach out to Miranda or Cathy.
