Photo Shoot for New Website
Thank you to all staff who were able to participate in the photo shoot for the new website. Clint, the photographer from Lifted Logic, was onsite March 28 to capture images reflecting activities and services at KHI. In addition to the still photos taken, Clint used a drone to fly above the KHI Building and State Capitol Building.

April 4-10 is National Public Health Week
The topic for this year's observance is Public Health Is Where You Are, emphasizing what we already know to be true: our physical, mental, and sociological environments have an impact on our health and lives. As we steadily return to in-person gatherings, we're concentrating on what we can do as individuals and communities to safeguard and prioritize public health. The daily NPHW themes were promoted through KHI's social media accounts throughout the week.
Stanek sworn in as KDHE Secretary
On March 29, Governor Laura Kelly presided over Janet Stanek's inauguration as Secretary of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment by Shawnee County District Court Judge David Debenham. Janet was a member of the KHI Board of Directors since July 2015 and most recently served as Chair of the Board before resigning due to her appointment as Secretary.

Volunteers Needed for Meals on Wheels
KHI volunteers are still needed to deliver Meals on Wheels on the third and fourth Wednesdays of each month. The number of recipients varies but the bulk of deliveries are made in under an hour.
Did You Know: For each hour of personal time that an employee spends on performing community volunteer service, KHI will allocate, on an hour-for-hour basis, up to a maximum of eight hours of time per six-month period to community volunteer service. Use of volunteer time must be approved by the employee’s supervisor in advance in the same way that other leave requests are processed.
