Return to Office
It’s been a long winter! Thank you for staying safe during the most recent surge in COVID-19 cases as we turned the corner to 2022. We’ll all be coming back to the office on Monday, March 7, with the same schedule we had before the holiday season. You are welcome to wear a mask if that is your preference, though masks will not be required on the 3rd Floor. Meetings on the 1st floor will be considered a public space when non-KHI participants are present; mask requirements will reflect local virus conditions and decisions will be made at the time of the meeting.
Be on the lookout for networking opportunities when we return to downtown Topeka! If you have ideas for staff outings, let us know.
Replicon Reward Day Selected
Remember that Replicon training? Wednesday, April 6th will be our delayed incentive day! JoDonna will send a survey to all employees asking if they prefer breakfast or lunch. This will honor employees who completed all the year-end trainings on the system’s Project Management, Report and Expense functions. Thank you to everyone who took part.
Bring It! Health Policy Series
Big kudos to the Bring It! project team. Thank you to everyone who made our second annual health policy series possible. Our presenters were Hina Shah, Linda Sheppard, Tatiana Lin, Wyatt Beckman, Phillip Steiner and Kari Bruffett. Thank you for all the prep work and facilitation!
Policy issues covered this year are reflected in these session titles: Suicide in Rural and Frontier Kansas, The Cost of Care: Prescription Drugs in KanCare, Navigating the Medical Marijuana Landscape, A Playbook for Modernizing the Kansas Behavioral Health System, and A Shot at COVID-19 Vaccine Policy.
We recorded a total of 180 participants representing at least 15 counties. Evaluation survey responses reflected a mean score of 4.5 out of 5 on “value of event (quality of information, breadth of perspectives presented, respectful dialogue).” Great job!

Volunteers Needed for Meals on Wheels
KHI volunteers are still needed to deliver Meals on Wheels on the third and fourth Wednesdays of each month. The number of recipients varies but the bulk of deliveries are made in under an hour.
Did You Know: For each hour of personal time that an employee spends on performing community volunteer service, KHI will allocate, on an hour-for-hour basis, up to a maximum of eight hours of time per six-month period to community volunteer service. Use of volunteer time must be approved by the employee’s supervisor in advance in the same way that other leave requests are processed.
Great reminder about setting clocks an hour ahead this weekend!
